South Hampton Roads Chapter
The SHR chapter is the newest member of the F.R.E.E. team.
SHR is launching this year with the support of Sentara Healthcare, the Hampton Roads Community Foundation and volunteers from across the area. Equipment closets have been opened in Sentara Obici, Bon Secours Maryview and Sentara Norfolk General Hospitals. An office/storage facility in Norfolk is the current base for serving those in need in the community. A newer, more permanent facility for F.R.E.E. of SHR is expected to be opened by the end of 2011.
SHR serves Norfolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth and Suffolk and partners with Goodwill of Central Virginia to collect gently used mobility equipment in these communities.
